Connectors
Connect the apps you use, such as Gmail, Google Sheets, Slack and Notion, so the chat can read and act in them for you.
Once an app is connected, just mention it in your message: "summarise my unread Gmail", "add these rows to my Sheet", "post this in #general". Anything that sends, changes or deletes something asks you to confirm first. The same connections work in your workflows.
Where to find them
The directory
- Yours lists what you have connected (it opens first once you have connected something); Discover lists everything else.
- Search looks at the names and at what each app can do, so "invoices" or "calendar" finds the right apps. The category filters narrow the list.
- Discover is one list with the most-used apps first: Gmail, Google Calendar, Drive, Sheets and Docs, Outlook, OneDrive, Excel, Word, Teams and SharePoint, Slack, Notion, HubSpot, Trello and so on. Each app is listed once.
- Every card says in one line what the connector can do. Apps that connect through Connect Hub say Uses Connect Hub credits: each action they run uses a Connect Hub credit from your plan. The others use none.
- This device shows Prompteryx in Chrome and Prompteryx Desktop, which let the AI Browser Agent and workflows use your own Chrome.
Press Connect and sign in to the app in the window that opens. If nothing opens, allow pop-ups for Prompteryx and try again.
A few apps ask for an API key instead. It is stored encrypted with your other credentials.
A connected app shows Connected. To see or remove your connected accounts and keys, open Connections in your account menu.
Ask anyway, for example "add this to my Notion". The reply shows a card to connect that app. Connect it there and the chat carries on with your request by itself, with nothing to type again.
If your plan doesn't include connected apps, the card says so and links to the plans.
Choose which apps one chat can use
In a chat, or before you send the first message of a new one, press the plug button in the message box. It opens Connectors in this chat: every app and custom connector you have connected, each with an on/off switch. Switch one off and the chat won't use it in this chat (if a task needs it, the reply says it is switched off). Everything starts switched on, and the switches are saved with the chat, so your other devices see them too. Incognito chats have no switches because nothing is saved. Add or manage apps at the bottom opens the apps panel.
Disconnecting an app
Every connected app has Disconnect next to Manage, in the chat's apps panel and on the Apps tab of Connections (account menu). Prompteryx asks you to confirm first, then asks the app to cancel our access where the app allows it, and deletes the saved sign-in.
Google is a special case: Google cancels access for all its apps at once (Gmail, Sheets, Drive, Calendar). So if you disconnect one Google app while another is still connected, only that one is removed and the others keep working.
Custom connectors (beta)
A custom connector links the chat to any remote MCP server (a web service that offers tools, such as "search our CRM" or "create a ticket"), using its web address.
- Open Connections from your account menu (bottom left). Custom connectors is on the Apps tab.
- Press Add custom connector, give it a Name and paste the Remote MCP server URL (it must start with https://).
- If the server can't sign you up by itself, open Advanced settings and enter the OAuth Client ID and Secret it gave you. The callback address to register with that service is shown there.
- Press Add. If the server needs you to sign in, press Sign in. Once it shows Connected · N tools, just ask for it in the chat.
- Each tool has a switch: Always allow, Ask first or Off. A tool the server says only reads starts on Always allow; anything else starts on Ask first, and the card says why.
- An Always allow tool still asks first in scheduled runs, after the chat has read outside content, and when the same request already read your private data (email, files, memory), because what the chat sends goes to that server.
- Only add servers you trust: the chat reads what they return, and they see what it sends them.
- You can add up to 10 custom connectors, with up to 2,000 tool calls a day; the count resets at midnight UTC.
- The refresh button reconnects and reloads the tool list. Disconnect removes the connector and asks the server to cancel our access.
On this computer (early access)
For early-access accounts with Prompteryx Desktop 1.6.0 or later, Connections also has On this computer: the local MCP servers and extensions you added in Desktop. Their tools have the same Always allow / Ask first / Off switches as custom connectors, and the chat can use them while Desktop is running and connected.
More
- In workflows: the Connect Hub node uses the same connections, and actions there count towards your plan's Connect Hub allowance (see Plans, credits and top-ups).
- From your own code: Use connected apps (Connect Hub).
