Prompteryx in Chrome
Bring AI-powered browser automation directly into your Chrome browser
What is Prompteryx in Chrome?
Prompteryx in Chrome brings the power of our AI Browser Agent directly into your Chrome browser. With the extension installed, you can access a sidebar chat interface that lets you control any web page using natural language commands—all while staying in your existing browser session with your logged-in accounts.
🚀 Key Benefit
Unlike the AI Browser Agent, which runs in our Cloud Browser or in a separate Chrome window with an automation profile, the Prompteryx in Chrome sidebar agent works within your current Chrome profile—preserving all your logged-in sessions, cookies, and browser state. No need to re-authenticate to websites!
Operates within your existing Chrome session. Your login sessions, cookies, and browser preferences are all preserved during automation.
Access the AI agent from a convenient sidebar panel that opens alongside any web page. Give commands in natural language and watch actions happen in real-time.
Each Chrome profile keeps its own panel settings, and its chat history follows the Prompteryx account that profile is signed in to. Runs are billed to the account the Prompteryx Desktop is signed in to—the panel shows which one.
Share screenshots or images with the AI to provide visual context. Say "make this look like the attached design" and the AI understands what you mean.
Choose to run automations on the page you're currently viewing—perfect for delegating tedious tasks on a page you're already working on.
Every action is recorded, with element selectors where the page provides them. Export your automation session to Visual Studio to create reusable, editable workflows.
What's new in 3.1.0
- Clicking the toolbar icon always opens the side panel. The old small popup is gone.
- The side panel's settings sync with your account (Settings → AI Browser Agent on the website). This needs the latest Prompteryx Desktop, signed in.
- The model list and default model come from the website, so the panel offers the same models as the app. Prompteryx Core is the default unless you pick another.
- Credit limits: Max credits per run and Max credits per chat in Agent settings, or Max credits for this run for one message. A run stops as soon as it reaches a limit.
- Safety checkpoints and final step quality follow your website settings, and the thinking picker shows each model's real levels.
- The panel is called Prompteryx in Chrome and shows a Beta badge. No new permissions.
How It Compares
| Feature | Prompteryx in Chrome Sidebar | AI Browser Agent |
|---|---|---|
| Uses your logged-in sessions | ✓ | Via Chrome Profiles |
| Sidebar chat interface | ✓ | The main chat |
| Execute on current tab | ✓ | New browser session only |
| Needs Prompteryx Desktop and extension | Yes | Only for local Chrome profiles |
| Attach images for context | ✓ | ✓ |
| Record to Visual Studio | ✓ | ✓ |
| Video recording | ✓ | ✓ |
| Stealth mode (anti-detection) | — | ✓ |
| Headless/background execution | — | ✓ |
Prompteryx in Chrome is ideal for quick tasks within your current browsing session, while the full AI Browser Agent is better for complex automations requiring stealth mode or headless execution. When your Chrome isn't connected, the AI Browser Agent runs on Cloud Browser, so it works without the extension or the desktop app.
