    Hover Node

    Browser Node

Move mouse cursor over elements to trigger hover effects

    Overview

The Hover node moves the mouse cursor over a specified element, triggering any CSS hover states or JavaScript mouseover events. This is essential for interacting with dropdown menus, tooltips, and other hover-activated UI components.

    modifiers
    Multi-select

Modifier keys to hold while hovering: Shift, Control, Alt, Meta

    Default: false
    selector_fallbackEnabled
    Boolean

Enable automatic fallback to alternative selectors

    Default: true

    Common Use Cases

    Opening Dropdown Menus

Many navigation menus only appear when you hover over a parent element. Use Hover to reveal these menus before clicking on items inside them.

    Selector:.nav-item.has-dropdown
    Revealing Tooltips

Hover over info icons or buttons to reveal tooltips containing additional information that can be extracted or verified.

    Selector:[data-tooltip], .info-icon
    Triggering Preview Panels

Some e-commerce sites show product previews, quick-view panels, or enlarged images on hover. Use Hover to trigger these before taking screenshots or extracting data.

    Usage Examples

    Example 1: Open Navigation Dropdown
Reveal dropdown menu to click a submenu item

    Workflow sequence:

    1. Hover over "Products" menu item
    2. Wait for dropdown to appear (Wait for Element)
    3. Click on "Electronics" submenu item
    Example 2: Extract Tooltip Content
Hover to reveal tooltip, then extract its text

    Workflow sequence:

    1. Hover over the info icon
    2. Wait for tooltip to appear
    3. Extract Text from .tooltip-content

    Best Practices

    Add Wait After Hover
Dropdown menus and tooltips often have animations. Add a short Wait (200-500ms) or Wait for Element after hovering to ensure the content has fully appeared.
    Hover Before Clicking Hidden Items
When clicking on items inside dropdown menus, always hover over the parent first to make the menu visible, then click on the target item.
