    Click Coordinates

    Browser Node

Click at specific X/Y positions on the page

    Overview

The Click Coordinates node clicks at a specific X and Y position on the page, rather than clicking on a selector-matched element. This is useful for canvas elements, image maps, or situations where traditional selectors don't work.

    Use with Caution
Coordinate-based clicking is fragile - if the page layout changes or the viewport size differs, the click will land in the wrong spot. Prefer selector-based clicks when possible.
    Parameters
    Configuration options for this node
    X Coordinate
    Number
    Required

Horizontal position in pixels from the left edge of the viewport

    Example: 500, {{clickX}}
    Y Coordinate
    Number
    Required

Vertical position in pixels from the top edge of the viewport

    Example: 300, {{clickY}}
    Mouse Button
    Select

Which mouse button to click: left, right, or middle

    Default: left
    Modifiers
    Multi-select

Modifier keys to hold while clicking: Shift, Control, Alt, Meta

    Example: Shift

    When to Use

    Canvas Elements

Canvas elements (games, charts, drawing apps) render pixels, not DOM elements. You can't use selectors on them - coordinate clicks are the only option.

    Image Maps

Clickable regions on images (like store locators or interactive diagrams) may not have accessible selectors for each region.

    Specific Positions on Elements

Sometimes you need to click a specific part of an element (like a slider track or a color picker gradient) where the exact position matters.

    Finding Coordinates

To find the coordinates you need:

    1. Browser DevTools: Open DevTools (F12), click on the Elements panel, then hover over the page - coordinates show at the bottom of the browser.
    2. Get Bounding Box Node: Use the Get Bounding Box node on a nearby element to get its position, then calculate your click position relative to it.
    3. Screenshot + Measure: Take a screenshot, open in an image editor, and measure pixel positions.

    Usage Examples

Example 1: Click on Canvas Game
Click a button rendered in a canvas element
    X Coordinate: 640
    Y Coordinate: 480
    Button: left
    Example 2: Slider Interaction
Click at a specific point on a slider track

    Workflow pattern:

    1. Get Bounding Box of slider element
    2. Calculate target X = x + width × 0.75 with Math Operations nodes (one operation each, e.g. Multiply {{$('Get Bounding Box').item.json.boundingBox.width}} by 0.75) → targetX
    3. Calculate target Y = y + height ÷ 2 the same way → targetY
    4. Click Coordinates: X = {{targetX}}, Y = {{targetY}}
    Example 3: Image Map Region
Click a region on an interactive map
    X Coordinate: 250
    Y Coordinate: 180

Tip: Set a consistent viewport size with Set Viewport node to ensure coordinates are reliable.

    Best Practices

    Set Viewport Size First
Always use a Set Viewport node before Click Coordinates to ensure the page layout is consistent. Different viewport sizes change where elements appear.
    Calculate Relative Positions
Instead of hardcoding coordinates, use Get Bounding Box on a stable element and calculate positions relative to it. This is more reliable across different screens.
    Consider Prompteryx Browser Agent
If you're clicking on visual elements without selectors, the Prompteryx Browser Agent can use AI vision to find and click elements by their appearance - often more reliable than hardcoded coordinates.
