    Execute on Current Tab

Run AI automations directly on the page you're currently viewing

What is Execute on Current Tab?

By default, the Sidebar Agent opens a new tab to run automations. With "Execute on Current Tab" mode, you can run automations directly on the page you're already viewing—perfect for delegating tasks on a page you're working on.

    Use Case Example

You're filling out a long form and realize it's tedious. Instead of switching to a new tab, you can switch to "Current tab" mode and say "Fill out the rest of this form with my saved profile information"—the AI will work on the exact form you were filling out.

    Work Where You Are

No need to navigate again in a new tab. The AI works on the exact page you're viewing, with all its current state intact.

    Pause & Resume

Need to take over? Pause the automation at any time, make manual changes, then resume where it left off.

    How to Use It

    1
    Switch to Current Tab Mode

Near the top of the sidebar, you'll see two toggle buttons: "New tab" and "Current tab". Click "Current tab" to enable this mode. The button will highlight to show it's active.

    2
    Navigate to Your Target Page

Make sure you're on the page where you want the AI to work. The sidebar will show the current tab's title to confirm which page is selected.

    3
    Confirm and Start

When you send your first command, a "Run on this tab" dialog shows your task and whether a snapshot is saved for undo. Click "Run on this tab" to proceed (tick "Don't ask again for this session" to skip it next time). The AI will then work directly on that page.

    4
    Watch the Visual Indicator

While the AI is working, you'll see a subtle glow around the page border and a floating indicator showing the AI is active. This helps you know when the AI is in control.

    Pause, Resume, and Rollback

    Pausing Execution

Click the Pause button in the sidebar to temporarily stop the AI. The current action will complete, but no new actions will start until you resume.

This is useful when you need to:

    • Review what the AI has done so far
    • Make a manual adjustment
    • Handle a popup or unexpected element
    Resuming Execution

After pausing, click the Resume button to continue. The AI will pick up where it left off, taking into account any changes you may have made to the page while paused.

    Rollback (Undo Changes)

If the AI makes unwanted changes, you can rollback to restore the page to its state before the AI started working. When a snapshot is saved, a banner appears in the sidebar—click "Undo changes". Snapshots are on by default; turn them off with "Snapshot for undo" in Agent settings (gear icon).

    Rollback restores:

    • Form field values
    • Scroll position

Note: Rollback cannot undo actions that have server-side effects (like submitted forms or purchases).

    Important Considerations

    Page Navigation

If the AI navigates away from the current page (e.g., clicks a link), undo takes the tab back to the original address, but the form values and scroll position from before navigation cannot be restored. Consider using "New tab" mode for tasks that involve navigation.

    Submitted Forms

Once a form is submitted, the submission cannot be undone. The rollback feature only restores local page state, not server-side changes.

    Authenticated Pages

When working on authenticated pages (like banking or admin panels), be extra careful. The AI will have access to whatever you can see on the page.
