    MCP Server

Use Prompteryx workflows, the AI browser agent and your connected apps from Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code, Gemini CLI and any other MCP client

    What is MCP?

The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard that lets AI assistants use external tools. With the Prompteryx MCP server your assistant can run and build workflows, run the AI browser agent on a real website, and use the apps you connected in Prompteryx (Gmail, Sheets, Slack and more), all from a normal conversation.

There is one hosted server for everyone: https://www.prompteryx.ai/api/mcp. Your AI app signs you in to Prompteryx with OAuth (you approve it on a Prompteryx page; no key is pasted). Clients that cannot do OAuth send an API key instead. A local version (npx @prompteryx/mcp-server) is also available.

Claude connectors directory. The Prompteryx listing in Claude's connectors directory uses a second address, https://www.prompteryx.ai/api/mcp/directory, with the same sign-in and the same tools except two groups the directory does not list: AI image, video and audio generation (the generate_* tools, and the assistant's own picture, video and audio tools inside chat_send), and the direct browser_* tools (use browser_ai_action, which is included). Everything else is the same: chat, research, documents, workflows, files, connected apps and Explore. To get every tool, add https://www.prompteryx.ai/api/mcp as a custom connector instead.

    Connect your AI app
Pick your app. Most take under a minute.
One-click install:Add to CursorAdd to VS CodeBoth add the hosted server; the editor then opens a Prompteryx sign-in page.

claude.ai, Claude Desktop and Claude mobile share connectors: add it once on the web or in Desktop.

    Free, Pro or Max

    1. Open Customize → Connectors (claude.ai/customize/connectors).
    2. Click Add custom connector.
    3. Name: Prompteryx. Remote MCP server URL: https://www.prompteryx.ai/api/mcp. Leave the OAuth client fields under Advanced settings empty.
    4. Click Add, then Connect. A Prompteryx page opens: sign in if asked, check the permissions and click Approve.
    5. In a chat, click + → Connectors and make sure Prompteryx is on. Then ask, for example, "Use Prompteryx to list my workflows".

    Team or Enterprise

    1. An Owner opens Organization settings → Connectors, clicks Add → Custom (type Web if asked), enters https://www.prompteryx.ai/api/mcp and clicks Add.
    2. Each member then opens Customize → Connectors, finds Prompteryx (labelled Custom) and clicks Connect to sign in with their own Prompteryx account.

The Free plan allows one custom connector. If Claude offers a choice of OAuth client, pick Use Claude's published identity (or Register automatically); both work with Prompteryx.

Then ask your assistant things like:

    • "List my Prompteryx workflows and run the 'Daily Report' one"
    • "Use Prompteryx to find wireless headphones under $50 on amazon.com"
    • "Send an email via Gmail to john@example.com" (needs Gmail connected in Prompteryx)
    • "Build a workflow that checks this page every morning and emails me the price"
What the hosted server can do

On the hosted server, browsing runs through browser_ai_action (the AI browser agent on the Prompteryx cloud browser) and through your saved workflows. The low-level browser_* tools (navigate, click, fill one step at a time) are not enabled there; to use them, run the local server with PROMPTERYX_EXECUTION_MODE=local and the Prompteryx desktop app, which drives your own Chrome.

Everything runs as you: your plan, your AI credits and cloud minutes, your connected apps. Tool calls are checked, rate-limited (60 API requests a minute per key or sign-in) and billed exactly as in the app. Revoke a sign-in any time in Cloud Platform → API → Connected apps; it stops working on its next request.

    Transport Modes

    Hosted (Streamable HTTP)

https://www.prompteryx.ai/api/mcp. Sign in with OAuth, or send Authorization: Bearer px_live_… / X-API-Key. Nothing to install.

Used by: Claude (web, Desktop, mobile), ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, Gemini CLI, n8n, Make

    Local (stdio)

npx -y @prompteryx/mcp-server, spawned by your AI app with PROMPTERYX_API_KEY set. Needed for the step-by-step browser_* tools in your own Chrome (local mode).
