    Exporting to Visual Studio

Save your AI-driven actions as reusable, editable workflows

    What Gets Recorded?

Every action the AI performs in the sidebar is automatically recorded with precise details. When you export to Visual Studio, these recordings become editable workflow nodes that you can refine, schedule, and reuse.

    Automatic Recording

Recording is always on—you don't need to enable anything. Every click, type, scroll, and navigation is captured with its target element and parameters.

    Precise Selectors

Clicks, hovers and typing include multiple selector options (Playwright locators such as role, text, label or test ID, plus CSS) so your workflow remains reliable even if the website changes slightly.

    How to Export

    1
    Complete Your Session

Perform all the actions you want to record. Give commands to the AI and watch it execute them. Each action is being recorded in the background.

    2
    Click "Visual Studio"

When you're ready to export, click the "Visual Studio" button in the bar near the top of the sidebar. Its badge shows how many actions have been recorded; if nothing has been recorded yet, the sidebar tells you to run the agent first.

    3
    Review in Visual Studio

A new tab opens with Visual Studio, showing your recorded actions as connected nodes. Each node represents one action (click, type, navigate, etc.) and you can see the flow from start to finish.

    4
    Save Your Workflow

Give your workflow a name and click Save. The workflow is now stored in your Prompteryx account and can be run, edited, or scheduled anytime.

    Tips for Better Workflows

    Be Deliberate

Each action you perform becomes a node. Avoid unnecessary clicks or navigation—they'll all be recorded and need to be cleaned up later.

    Test Before Exporting

Make sure your session completes successfully before exporting. It's easier to record it right the first time than to fix a broken workflow.

    Add Wait Nodes

After exporting, consider adding Wait for Element nodes before click actions. This makes your workflow more reliable on slow connections.

    Check Selectors

Review the generated selectors in Visual Studio. If a selector looks too specific (like using dynamic IDs), switch to a more stable option from the selector dropdown.
